Who Is Your Neighbor?
I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In preparation for the upcoming Spiritual Congress in September, I have been thinking about Luke 10:25-37. The parable is about the Good Samaritan. We know this guy. The Lawyer stands up to test Jesus by asking him what he must do to inherit eternal life. Right away we have an explosion. Jesus knew he was being tested. Jesus answers him with this question, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” Vs 27 “you should love your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” God said, you have answered correctly. The lawyer wishing to justify himself to Jesus, “and who is my neighbor?”
It is my hope that by joining us at Spiritual Congress September 14th-16th that we can find some answers to questions like this as we learn about our own Spiritual Formation. We have several speakers that will share their faith and growth in Christ and will then lead workshops to help us to begin to search and listen for what might be moving in our own hearts and souls. This is to be a time of renewal, growth at our own pace, and yes, meet some of our new neighbors in Christ.
Please click on the Spiritual Congress button, down load the brochure and registration forms and join other men who are struggling with the same issues that you and I face every day of our lives. Learn about your neighbor, from your neighbor, and be a neighbor to someone else. Bring a friend and listen to what God may be saying to you. Build a relationship(s) that you can trust and always know it will be there for you.
The Northern Illinois Conference UMM wants to; assist men to know Christ, to serve him, to grow spiritually and to seek to do his daily will. IF you have any questions as always you can contact me
(Steve Nailor) and I will help in any way that I can.
By Faith
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible. Hebrews 11:1-3

On behalf of the Northern Illinois Conference United Methodist Men I want to welcome you to the Men’s new webpage. It is our hope that you will find this helpful and informative to the needs of your Men’s Unit.
We will be linked to the Northern Illinois Conference United Methodist Men, our districts as they come on line and the General Commission on United Methodist Men. Our District Presidents and their executive committees want to disciple men of our church and the un-churched.
The purpose of UM Men is to help men to grow in Christ, so others can know Christ.
United Methodist Men is a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality, and to seek daily His will.
